A note about my dream comic project.
WHOA. Original written content on my Tumblr blog? Yeah, it’s been a while, hasn’t it? But I thought I’d share with you guys something about the stuff I’m doing now.

Someone during my university years once described to me how Waterworld was likely to have been Kevin Costner’s dream concept—the one movie he had to make. The movie had massive budget issues and...

Anon on Formspring asked me to draw Soli with her hair down a few months ago! Today I was gently reminded again, so here you go.
Much younger Soli, with a bunch of terrible mistakes in her future.
i hereby declare today meek appreciation day here at incitatus-ebooks central

A glimpse into the minds behind Maddy McGee, P.I.
(A discussion after bringing up the sitcom, My Two Dads. Expletives censored due to excessiveness.)
Britt: There is no part of this show that is not hilarious
NO PART
me: Apparently, near the end of the series, the girl goes in for a DNA test because the two fathers are getting so antsy, and later decides that it doesn't matter to her anymore once they make up.
Bull. Sh-t.
Lol.
Britt: Lies.
You'd want to know man
me: I'd still want to know, that's for sure.
Britt: Yeah, I'd seriously be like "Gotta know"
Hell, if they're over fighting, I just wouldn't tell them
BUT I HATE SECRETS.
/the person who always looks up spoilers on older TV shows
me: I linked it.
I had to.
Lol.
Britt: I saw lol
me: Oh, okay. Just looked up the actual episode description.
Yeah. Still bullsh-t.
Britt: For a sitcom, 9/10 times bullsh-t
And I say that as someone who watches a few sitcoms
They are so stupid
I have no idea why I like watching them
me: Prat falls.
Britt: Indeed.

A question for you all!
What kind of comics do you read and why? And if you don’t read comics, why is that? Is there something you haven’t found in comics yet that’s preventing you from reading them?

FAN EXPO recap, return of MADDY!
Two birds with one stone! Right at this link right here. Or at the one image link above. Whatever you choose is fine.
There, you’ll find a mini-recap of my time at Fan Expo Canada right under the updated page to my previously-on-hiatus webcomic, Maddy McGee, P.I.

That’s where we’ll be! We’ll be selling prints, trading cards, phone charms and stickers! Also, I’ll be doing a whole bunch of free sketches with a tip jar out. So come on by and check our stuff out! You may just like what we’ve got.
Anonymous asked: All of you: If you watch Television (or your equivalent), what is your favorite program/genre of show?
Anonymous asked: Maddy: Do you ever switch your robotic limbs and call yourself Mrs. McGreg?

MADDY McGEE, P.I. to be on a short hiatus! Fan...
Unfortunately, I’m going to have to put Maddy on hold for the next two to three weeks. While I love this project a lot, there’s a lot of other deadlines I have to meet that are higher in priority. Best case scenario, I’ll have a comic up on or near August 20th. Worst case scenario, it’ll be up by the end of the month.
Speaking of the end of the month, I’ll be at...

5 Things about Captain America: The First Avenger
Mr. Adam WarRock (Euge Ahn) says it best, I think. Cap was an amazingly fun film and worth the watch, especially after watching the depressing (but pretty good) Harry Potter finale.
To director Joe Johnston: while it is not the Rocketeer 2 that I was hoping would happen, it is so god-damned close! Probably my favourite Avengers-tied film to date.

How long will each case last for your web comic Maddy McGee, P.I.?
Are you going to be following any of the rebooted DC Comics, which one or why not?
Captain America vs Batman?
What do you think about The Amazing Spider-man movie that's coming out, was it necessary?
Why do YOU think Calvin and Hobbes is so popular?

Recommendations! (8 JUN/11)
I’m gonna take whatever time I have right now to throw out some rec’s in terms of comics!
Three recommendations, to be precise!
Y: The Last Man (The Deluxe Edition books) Brian K. Vaughan, Pia Guerra, José Marzàn Jr. et al
Finally read the last volume; I started to gain interest in the series after watching the iFanboy videocast last year on the series. Even though the vid was...

I remember telling fellow volunteers at the university paper about these musicians. I remember our after-term parties and me bringing Rock Band over so I could at least let them hear “Opening Band.” I remember doing my first ever open mic night at the campus pub with “Re: Your Brains” on my setlist—that, mind you, was the only good part about my set.

CLICK ABOVE OR HERE TO SEE THE FLICKR SET OF ART CARDS!
I was just as excited as T-Rex (pictured above) for the Toronto Comics Art Festival (or TCAF) last weekend! Fortunately for me, and as usual, it beat my expectations. Somehow every year the event just gets better and better, which is saying a lot for me considering they had Scott McCloud and Bryan Lee O’Malley as guests in 2009.

No model but yourself: PHOTOBOOTH REFERENCE →
I just found this tumblelog and it’s by far one of my favourite ones so far. And while I already knew illustrators do this, it’s always relieving to see I’m not the only one doing this.
Click the Link or the image above to go to the site. Highly recommended for illustrators to check out! Hell, I might even post a photo up there one day.
pterofractal asked: When do I get drawn into your comics? I call the role of Maddy's sidekick.
pterofractal asked: If you could get anyone in the world to play Maddy in a real life version of your soon to be comic who would you like to see play Maddy? If you can't answer this yet I totally understand?
pterofractal asked: Have you ever just drawn comics and gotten someone else to write the script or is everything you have done both written/drawn by you?
pterofractal asked: Do you base any of your character designs on people?
pterofractal asked: In the post where you list of Maddy's bio you said this may be "the" comic. What do you mean by that?
pterofractal asked: Where do you get the inspiration for some of your comic book characters personalities/attributes? I was just reading the description of Madison McGee and there is a fair amount of detail. The robotic leg/arm I would think may have come from FMA but not sure about the other details. I am also curious about the name. I like McGee but I usually associate it with more humours tones. The description of...

Honestly, I forgot all about the robot.
It caused an interesting read on my Twitter feed just now.
So this was a thing that happened a bit ago. What’s even more interesting is that Tim Buckley changed the dialogue in the last panel an hour later.
And that read I was talking about? It was pretty much the sound of a number of webcomic creators facepalming. And I’ll admit I joined in with the orchestra.

Jess Fink doesn't deserve this. No one does.
jessfink:
So on Tuesday I rage spiraled into space for a while when I was told that Todd Goldman was ripping off my designs AGAIN.
I know my designs are simple and play on ideas we all understand but the fact is Goldman offered me a job in 2006. He said he loved my Threadless shirts, that he bought a Lil Soap shirt and wanted me to work for him. I told him I would think about it and we never...
