COMIQUIRK, by Peter N. Trinh

pterofractal asked: Where do you get the inspiration for some of your comic book characters personalities/attributes? I was just reading the description of Madison McGee and there is a fair amount of detail. The robotic leg/arm I would think may have come from FMA but not sure about the other details. I am also curious about the name. I like McGee but I usually associate it with more humours tones. The description of the character you gave makes me think the comic will have a bit of a serious tone to it though

I’ll be honest. I got the McGee bit from an Anchorman scene.

The idea’s more like a sci-fi/noir/action comedy. It’s like the real and present world…only with robots. No hoverjets, no laser blasters, and Maddy’s team of investigators drive around in an Econoline van.

While I’m a fan of things like FMA and Dresden Codak, the idea came mainly from my fascination with robotic prosthetics. While I don’t love the idea of losing body parts, the idea of replacing said lost parts with full-function-capable parts is brilliant.
