Three recommendations, to be precise!

Y: The Last Man (The Deluxe Edition books)
Brian K. Vaughan, Pia Guerra, José Marzàn Jr. et al

Finally read the last volume; I started to gain interest in the series after watching the iFanboy videocast last year on the series. Even though the vid was really spoiler heavy, I still held interest in reading it afterward. I’m glad I stuck with it. Such a great series!

We Are The Engineers (Wasted Talent vol. 1)
Angela Melick

I think the first time I heard about Wasted Talent was from a good friend of mine, one who is no stranger to being with university mathies and engineering students. Not only is Melick’s book—based on her university years at UBC—funny on its own, but it’s a great nostalgia read for me, reminding me of the people I hung out with at UW. Check out her webcomic and see for yourself. She writes a good journal comic.

Koko Be Good
Jen Wang

After being in a bunch of comic anthologies (mostly in Flight), Wang finally got to make a book, and man it’s beautiful. A story of fates intertwining, the story is both fanciful and human—both plot-wise and visually.
