Mini-Review: Daft Punk’s “TRON: Legacy” Soundtrack

Finally got the TRON Legacy soundtrack. Part Interstella 5555, part Hans Zimmer. All very good. Now here’s hoping I’ll like the movie.

— via my Twitter post

While it may not be a full-fledged house mix, this album’s still well-done. This emphasizes even more that Daft Punk are more than just two dudes mixing samples, but also full-fledged musical composers. As much as I love Human After All and Discovery, their soundtrack to TRON: Legacy is right where it should be: a beautiful use of orchestra with a nice side-dish of Daft-Punk-styled house charm and a hint of—dare I say it—Queen’s Flash Gordon soundtrack.

“This blog has been moved…”

I’ve decided to base myself solely on Tumblr now since it’ll be easier to manage rather than holding both a Tumblr and Wordpress blog. I still have this strong desire to blog with stories and opinions, although as a word of warning, my updates may not be as frequent as you may think. Just saying…

My main focus will still be on my artblog—hence why its address is still prefixed with only my name—but I figured that if I was tempted to post any text-based entries longer than 140 characters, I would put it here.

Although I’m a Formalist/Animist-kind of person, my own artwork and comics is my main focus. But that doesn’t mean I won’t say anything in particular about the craft.

To those new to my blog writing, I wish you good tidings and I hope you’ll enjoy what I have to share.
